Yoga & Classes
Marianne is trained in both Hatha Yoga and the Vinyasa style of yoga and has been teaching for 20 years. She has a Diploma in Yoga Teaching, and initially studied through the British School of Yoga. She subsequently studied different styles of yoga with the International School of Yoga and Shiva Rea.
Her classes have a vinyasa style and encourage a balance of alignment and flow by linking static postures with dynamic flowing sequences around the movement of the breath. The aim of practice is to develop flexibility, strength and quietness of mind while soothing the nervous system. On Monday evenings, Marianne runs a VinYin class which is a perfect compromise between building strength and letting go as it combines two styles of yoga into one class. Yin Yoga involves holding postures for several minutes to give a deep stretch and muscle release through hydration of fascia.
Marianne is passionate about the benefits of yoga and loves teaching yoga to beginners and intermediate practitioners alike. Students of all levels are welcome and Marianne ensures all students receive individual attention. Students are encouraged to focus on physical alignment, movement and breath so that they can follow their own practice safely on the mat and at the same time become aware of the changes that their practice can bring.
